A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The annual Installation of Officers was held on December 15, 1973. Mr. Lee Marigian furnished musical entertainment throughout the Installation. Light refreshments were enjoyed in the dining hall following the ceremonies.
In the stated meeting of February Bro. Sidney Brownlow fell unconscious. He was revived by the paramedics and made a full recovery at Clovis Hospital. In March there was discussion about the cost of the malicious mischief clause in the insurance policy but it was decided to keep the policy in effect.
In the meeting in May Bro. Kamer offered a pool table to the Lodge free of charge but it was decided that it would not be practical and would lead to difficulty for the Lodge, Oh man......what were these guys thinking??? hehehe Later in the month on the 23rd it was another Past Masters night.
In June thanks were given to those who helped keep the temple in such good repair, and to the brethren who had just finished in the work parties changing the water fountain and working on the cooler.
On June 25th Bro. Robert Roy Landers, Past Master of Clovis Lodge, passed away. Brother Robert was Master in 1924. Kind words spoken were, "We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends."
In July the topic of discussion was clandestine Masonry which brought out the necessity of being careful when recognizing other Lodge's.
On September 2nd Bro. George Wayne Rall, Past Master of Clovis Lodge, passed away. Kind words spoken were, "Bro. Wayne, a former Mayor of Clovis, was active in civic affairs here for many years. He demitted to Clovis Lodge in 1935 from Michigan."
On October 1st Bro. Carl Oscar Larson passed away after a long illness. Bro. Carl was Master in 1942 and was quite active in all of the Masonic bodies at that time. A large group of his old friends attended the service.
November brought another degree from the California Highway Patrol Degree Team. And on December the 5th there was the annual Roll Call dinner.
Members lost to death in this year were, John Holmes Grossman, Preston Whitman Williams, Wallace Hill, George Otis Washburn, Lee Edward Nelson, Clifford Bridges, Harold Brayton Howard, Robert Roy Landers PM, Carrol Robert Romar, George Wayne Rall PM, Carl Oscar Larson PM, and Roy Aldo Walker.
